How to create a clear CS2 item buy order
A good buy order tells sellers exactly what is wanted and protects the buyer from an accidental price or quantity. The essential inputs are the exact variant, maximum unit price, total quantity and a sensible expiry.
Choose the exact catalog item
Search the complete market name and confirm the image, item type, edition, exterior and StatTrak or Souvenir status. Do not create a request from a shortened nickname when several variants exist.
Set the unit price from live evidence
Review the current lowest external listing, recent volume and visible spread. A lower order may fill slowly; a higher order may attract supply faster but increases the buyer’s cost. The order price is a maximum commitment, not a prediction of future value.
Choose quantity and calculate the full lock
Multiply unit price by quantity before confirmation. A request for 1,000 low-priced items can be a larger commitment than one expensive skin. SkinOrders locks the funded value required for the open quantity so it cannot be simultaneously withdrawn or spent twice.
Use duration as an execution control
A short duration is useful when the market is moving or the buyer’s price is time-sensitive. A longer duration gives more sellers a chance to match but leaves funds committed. Unfilled value should return to available balance when a request expires normally.
Understand order stacking
Requests for the same exact item are shown as one demand stack to sellers. The highest eligible price receives priority. Within the same price, earlier orders are handled first. This keeps the market readable without duplicating identical cards.
Review before publishing
- Exact market name and variant confirmed.
- Unit price compared with live markets.
- Quantity and total value checked.
- Trade URL saved and linked to the verified Steam account.
- Duration matches the price thesis.
- Fees and cancellation rules understood.
After publication, cancel the whole remaining request if the thesis changes. Do not rely on editing a live order into a materially different commitment.
