SkinOrders Trade Helper Privacy Policy
Effective date: 1 September 2026. This policy applies to the SkinOrders Trade Helper Chrome extension published by SkinOrders. The publisher's verified business contact information is also displayed on the extension's Chrome Web Store listing.
Data handled
- A one-time SkinOrders handoff token.
- Seller and buyer Steam account identifiers.
- Reserved CS2 asset identifiers and the Steam trade-offer identifier.
- Trade-offer state and timestamps needed to show whether the offer is pending, accepted, declined, cancelled or expired.
- Steam trade-page content necessary to select and verify the exact reserved items.
Steam authentication
While the user is signed in to Steam, the extension temporarily reads Steam's local web access token in memory solely to request the user's own sent-offer status from the official Steam Web API. The token is not stored in Chrome storage and is never transmitted to SkinOrders or another third party.
How data is used
- Verify that the signed-in seller, buyer and reserved assets match the SkinOrders handoff.
- Fill the Steam offer with only the reserved assets.
- Record the offer ID and update the related trade timeline.
- Prevent substitution, overfill and mismatched-recipient errors.
Storage and retention
Active-offer tracking records are stored locally in Chrome while an offer is being monitored. A final record is deleted locally seven days after Steam reports a final state. SkinOrders retains marketplace transaction records under its marketplace policies for security, dispute handling, accounting and legal obligations.
Sharing
The extension communicates only with skinorders.com, steamcommunity.com and the official api.steampowered.com endpoint. SkinOrders does not sell extension data, use it for personalised advertising or transfer it for creditworthiness or lending purposes.
What is never requested
The extension never asks for a Steam password, Steam Guard code, email code, recovery code, API key, wallet seed phrase or private key. It does not click Make Offer and does not confirm a trade.
Security
All extension network requests use HTTPS. Handoff tokens are placed in the URL fragment so they are not sent to Steam as part of the HTTP request. The extension checks the signed-in seller, the verified buyer and the complete set of reserved asset IDs before selecting items.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use
The use of information received from Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data is used only to provide or improve the extension's disclosed single purpose, for security, or where required by law. It is not used for personalised advertising.
User choices and contact
The extension activates its Steam automation only after the user starts a reserved SkinOrders trade. Users can inspect every selected item before submitting the offer, remove the extension at any time, or clear its local data through Chrome. For access, correction, deletion or privacy questions, email support@skinorders.com.
